The Arctic Star Wall is a foundation paper pieced pattern from Quitlworx.com.  You may notice that it looks similar to the Glacier Star Technique of the Month from 2010.  That's because they are basically the same design!  However, we have changed the name and updated the pattern using our latest techniques, eliminating Y-seams, adding smart corners and TRP lines, adjust the size of the units so that they fit our standardized pattern sizes, and we've created a mixer option whereby you can test out alternative Queen borders if you want to use something besides the original!

Please note, there are three Template options for this design.  One, which is a grey scale blank template with all the blocks filled in, follows the block alternatives used in the original published pattern.  Another has the quilt colored to match the coversheet.  Finally, there is one that has only a square filled in and the rest is blank.  This is a mixer option.  This allows you to explore other block options.  However, there are LOTS to choose from!  You will only want to choose the blocks that go with this pattern, which are: 

1. Glacier Star Diamond (Original or Alt 1)
2. Icicle Star Border (Original or Alt 1)
3. Winter Migrations Border (Geese 1 color, Geese 2 colors, or Geese 8 colors)

If you choose anything else, the papers won't be in your pattern that you need and you will need to order mixer booklets to replace what's in the pattern.  

You will notice that we have also published an Arctic Star Queen.  That layout should be used to plan your project if you have purchased the Arctic Star Queen.  But, we suggest that if you want to expand an Arctic Star Wall design, that you use the Expansion layout instead.  This design can also be expanded to King Size!  Choose the Arctic Star Wall King Size layout if you want to go even larger!  Happy Quiltstering!
